Professor Monica Whitty, Department of Software Systems & Cybersecurity, Monash University and member of the IDCARE Foundation College of Experts, was recognised for her enduring contributions to the field of cyberpsychology by being awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 28th Annual CyberPsychology, CyberTherapy and Social Networking Conference in Sydney on the 17 July.
Professor Whitty is one of the most cited researchers in cyberpsychology for her leading work on cyber scams and deception and continues to advance new knowledge on the susceptibility to scams and cybercrimes and their impacts. Professor Whitty gave the keynote address at the international conference on understanding the psychology of cybercrimes, providing insights into her ground-breaking research which inspired attendees to further this important research area.
